12.5" ARP 6.8 SPC II BUILD PAGE

This build as titled starts on a 12.5" ARP 6.8 spc II 3R melonite barrel. Due to such a large variety of 6.8 barrels, good quality and fair pricing I use them often in my 6.8 builds. Because I loaded up on dozens of them when the opportunity presented itself the lower receiver is a Mag Tactical billet magnesium and is combined with a Spikes upper. Used an Ergo adjustable gas block because had a dozen on hand from a power buy a while back. The fire control system is a massaged Colt Competition target model with a JP 3.5 Enhanced Reliability Spring kit for a 3.25 pound pull after a quick hone using a Power Custom Hammer & Sear Jig. This build uses a Colt M16 bolt carrier and LWRCI "lobster tail" dual spring extractor. The buffer and pistol brace is a KAK Shockwave kit and used FDE on black as had an over abundance of FDE kits from a past clearance sale. Actually found a NOS Vortex Fatstfire 1 lurking in back of optics pile which works really well with the build. The 6.8 spc II has become the most popular game cartridge for the AR15. Even the smaller 12.5" pistol builds are becoming popular and being used in the field whether hunting herds of feral hogs destroying property, deer and even elk or other larger game by experienced hunters.
