This Ruger Race Rifle is one of a special edition released around 2004 soon after the original Ruger 10-22 Target Model came to market. It was used to shoot a lot of silhouette stuff back then. Replaced the Ruger receiver with a Volquartsen after about the first year of competition. It still sports the original spiral hammer forged custom bull barrel which with a tad of attention are highly accurate with superb factory bluing. The fancy stock looks a bit "Buck Rogers" but is very well designed and works well from the bench, offhand, prone to just walking the woods hunting squirrel. What a hoot to dig this old girl out of retirement for more rimfire fun. the original Leupold scope has now been replaced with a Sightron 5-50x60mm which has the range to hunt on the bottom end and punch paper looking for those small groups at 100 to 200 yards.
