CHURCH SECURITY TEAMS & THE LAW

Based on your state, the laws on in-house security teams vary widely. The builders of this site reside in Georgia where we have some of the most complicated laws for securing a church which seem to be written in a manner to force churches to hire private security agencies, off duty certified law enforcement agents, or build your on team. If you form a security team in a Georgia church then you must follow all state laws on training and certification of armed security guards which will cost you a lot of money. There is a work around but many pastors seem to not understand its the only way to arm members of their church and choose not to "opt in".
