CHURCH SECURITY TEAMS & THE LAW
Based on your state, the laws on in-house security teams vary widely. The builders of this site reside in Georgia where we have some of the most complicated laws for securing a church which seem to be written in a manner to force churches to hire private security agencies, off duty certified law enforcement agents, or build your on team. If you form a security team in a Georgia church then you must follow all state laws on training and certification of armed security guards which will cost you a lot of money. There is a work around but many pastors seem to not understand its the only way to arm members of their church and choose not to "opt in". We will try to explain our home states rules then add other states as we research and get help from experts in those states. To God be the Glory, lets keep our congregations safe.
