For anyone that wants to learn about not only church security but disastor training in general FEMA liteally has hundreds of courses on a myriad of subjects. If any disastor happens on your campus or in your community then as emergency responders arrive the NIMS (National Incident Management System) is going to kick in. Most churches and church associations participate in disastor relief and having worked with FEMA, GEMA, North American Mission Board and many others including LDS Disastor Relief. When a Katrina to Harvey hurricane rolls up the Gulf or earthquake hits the west coast or Haiti a myriad of groups from local emercency responders, FEMA, National Guard, Army Reserve, Church Associations and many more rush in with aid.

This system is good for anyone intersted in working from the local church to national association will have to understand how NIMS works. Especially if NIMS is invoked on your campus following a worst case event. Your staff has to know how to interact with the responders. I suggest all full time ministry people take the basic NIMS classes and whoever in your church coordinates the security aspect take all the NIMS classes that relate to the process and securing your campus, planning for events and working with all responders. Its going to be a mess that with foreknowldge of the process, your ability to prepare for whats going to happen will make the process much easier.
