SWAT FIREARMS/WHITE OAK 20" HBAR

This rifle started on a SWAT Firearms machined billet receiver set to add rigidity and strength to the heavy 20" 1:7 White Oak Armament SDM barrel. The fire control system is a massaged Rock River Arms 2-Stage National Match Trigger. Every trigger we install is checked to ensure hammer notch and sear are square and properly engaging. Often will play with different trigger and disconnector springs to work on reducing trigger pull on rifles designated to match, SPR or SDM roles. Currently it has a Leupold Mk AR 3-9x sitting inBurris PEPR mount with an inexpensive Sight Mark 1x red dot for quick CQB shots and as b.ackup to scope. Its mounted forward of the tall front target turret to allow easy dial up of elevation dope and not have turret impeding bottom part of field of view.  Range reports and more information will be up soon.

HBAR 100 YARD ACCURACY

Below are pictures of two groups from the 20" White Oak barrel and both were fired with 62 grain lead core FMJ bullets from my generic informal budget handloads shooting from sand bags, not a bench rest rifle rest or some fancy modern contraption. Did not have any match grade heavies like 77 grain Sierra Match Kings on break in day but the cheapest bulk 62 grain FMJ bullets could source at time were loaded in these rounds. Unsure of powder used but would most likely be TAC or Varget. Target on the left is a 40 round group from two magazines. The right group is three rounds and from the horizontal stringing would assume some shooter error was induced from inconsistent trigger pull. I have a tendency to feather the trigger and too little trigger pressure will push rounds too the left. The big group exhibits vertical stringing, horizontal stringing and shooter fatigue. Basically this rifle shoots much better than its owner does. These targets are from initial break in when had a Leupold 4-12x rather than the Mk AR 3-9x currently residing on top. Some day intend to temporarily put a high magnification scope on this rifle for a session to see just how accurate it really is. My guess is it will easily shoot under 1/2 MOA with right glass and ammo or as is with a better operator. Set up as a SDM rifle is not conducive to punching paper but am reasonably sure this rifle can shoot match quality groups.
