18" MAG TACTICAL/WHITE OAK 22 NOSLER
This rifle started on a Mag Tactical machined billet lower receiver and a White Oak Armament upper receiver. The barrel is a 18" White Oak Armament 1:9 twist heavy profile with an AAC 51T Ratchet Mount suppressor adapter. It is built on a Fostech/Mag Tactical billet magnesium reciever set with a FAB Defence Magwell funnel. The fire control system is a massaged milspec unit that has had the creep and travel removed and breaks at a crisp 3.75 pounds. Every trigger we install is checked to ensure hammer notch and sear are square and properly engaging. Often will play with different trigger and disconnector springs to work on reducing trigger pull on rifles designated to match, SPR or SDM roles. Sitting on top of it is a Burris 4.5-14x A.O. scope with a 1x red dot on top in event is needed for close quarters combat type shooting.
A 22 NOSLER COMES TO LIFE
Since this build is not intended to be run with a can I used a budget low profile gas block and a standard rifle length gas tube. First trip to the range carried a wide variety of buffers and swapped out different units till the rifle ran 100% reliable and had soft recoil impulse and a Spikes H2 buffer combined with the Tubb Flatwire buffer spring was a perfect combination.
FINAL PARTS ADJUSTMENTS & CHOICES
As always I play with dfferent muzzle devices and optics based on what find in my parts lockers or what may come in from a recent deal found from a vendor or discussion group private sale. The PRI muzzle brake was purchased for a 5.56 and discovered quickly that a 5.56 does not need a muzzle brake so moved it to the Nosler and found the scope on such a deal brought two in inventory.
THE RIFLE IS LASER ACCURATE EVEN DURING BREAK-IN
The above left target is five rounds of factory 77 grain Nosler and the right is 10 shots at 100 yards from first trip to the range for break in. As rifle has been tweaked a tad and barrel broken in if operator does their job rifle is a solid 1/2 MOA rifle at 100 and 200 yards.
