At present this is considered by some as a controversial and unneccesary trigger system lumped into the same catagory as a bump fire stock. I would have to say 99.9999% of people that have issues with either have fired neither. For me the Franklin Binary trigger is an effective tool for fast moving competition and for my disabled wife they inrease odds she may survive a home invasion type attack. I have to bump fire stocks that were installed and after just a couple trips to the range removed and put back in box. One was only used for one magazine to verify funtion and other was used to see what would make it quit and what would make it run best in event needed to trouble shoot one when working as gunsmith.
If I were in a large venue where active shooter went bezerk would prefer they have a bumpfire stock as will waste more ammuition than use effectively and run out more often giving "white hats" a nice opportunity to engage while they reload. From my reading more rounds miss when bumpfire is misused than hit so your actually safer. Binary tirggers are a totally diffent system and have actual uses that make them great for competative sports that require a quick second shot and in home defense role. Again if misused will just waste rounds making it safer for innocents involved as shooter will waste ammo and run out sooner. It takes training to effectively use these triggers and burn a lot of ammo doing it. That said I have at least a half dozen in use and about three waiting to be installed in upcoming projets.
