The M25 Sniper Weapon System is a precision rifle built for Tier 1 special operations teams such as Army Special Forces and Navy SEALs. It was developed as a sniper rifle based on a match grade M14 called the "Light Sniper Rifle", "Sniper Security System" and "Product Improved M21". The commercial version has been named "White Feather" in honor of Carlos Hathcock. The M25 is similar to the M21. with a National Match M14 barrel in a McMillan M3 fiberglass stock, unitized gas system, National Match spring guide and a Brookfield Precision Tool Advanced Scope mount. Originally the Baush & Laumb 10× Tactical scope was the glass of choice but often the Leupold Ultra Mark 4 M1, Ultra Mark 4 M3, and Vari X-III LR M3. This rifle has been seen with various suppressors over its life.
The M25 was designed to fill a specific need for accurate fire beyond the range of a standard issue M4 carbine and has been used from the Gulf War onwards as the Designated Marksman's Rifle (DMR). The M25 gives either the sniper's spotter or a squad-level marksman a long-range rifle that can be fired at a faster rate than a sniper's bolt-action rifle. This rifle wile usually is seen in 7.62x51 aka 308 its also being seen in 6.5 Creedmoor in use by special operations units. All photos are thumbnailed so click for a larger view and many part linked.

WORKING THE LRB M-25 FROM LEUPOLD TRIPOD
Have been enjoying a different way of shooting from my feet. The Leupold tripod is working fabulous for more than holding a chronograph off the ground. Both the Leupold clamp aka "shooting saddle" on the top and the Leupold heavy duty tripod are outstanding products.

ANOTHER LRB M25 GETS A SCOPE UPGRADE
Mounted a pretty interesting scope on one of my LRB M25s. Hi Lux Leatherwood M1200-XLR 6-24x 50mm. After reading a review on this scope, just had to try one. Not like the NF I am used to, but certainly will do the job in a pinch. This rifle is a LRB built on their M25 receiver with one of their medium weight 19.5" barrels. Most of the small parts are Winchester with a TRW bolt.
