WORKING A 5,000 COUNT BATCH OF MIXED 45 ACP BRASS

This is the brass prep done for a 5,000 count run of 45 acp in which I used a mix of range pick ups, once fired purchased online and from personal use along with a bunch of brass that came from a big bucket of twice to possibly twenty times fired. To ensure all was consistent as possible introduced every piece to a trimmer only use for 45 acp only, uniformed every primer pocket using an RCBS power case prep center and hit every flash hole with deburring tool. Have shot 3,000 rounds from this batch without a single failure to feed, fire or extract and no cases have failed. Put the other 2,000 rounds back as have completed another 5,000 count run prepped exactly the same using once fired mixed range pick ups purchased online which am chewing through quickly.  Will add more detailled photos soon.

START WITH TUMBLED, SIZED & DEPRIMED CASES AT TRIMMER

While normally trimming is done later (after case sizing) whenever I get "new to me" brass it gets deprimed, trimmed and primer pockets serviced. My metod of prepping primer pockets is considered unneccesary by many but am always hearing storied of high primers binding up revolvers, slam firing in semiauto rifles and there are some newer to market primers now that are made differently than traditional primers and if not seated fully will not light when hit by firing pin. Just read where a guy loaded 1,000 rounds of 9mm in same manner has done for twenty plus years and 1/4 to 1/3 do not light when firing pin hits them so he is now pulling the entire lot apart to fix his issue. I have collected about twenty case trimmers over the years, coverted all to power feed then set up for a single caliber. Saves restting my trimmer every time change calibers but a person can get by with one. More on trimming when I do my trimming page.

SEEMS TEDIOUS BUT GOES FAST & WORTH EVERY BIT OF EFFORT WHEN FEED TO PRESS

THIS BRASS IS NOT ALLOWED TO MIX WITH OTHERS AS FIRED GOOD TO RUN THREE MORE TIMES

This may seem like a tedious process but have made sure all new brass thats added to my range brass inventory is cleaned, deprimed and "rough sized" using an older carbide die. Then it sometimes gets added to a batch of my range brass that has been loaded three or four times since last trimmed and processed so the single stacks see an ever growing inventory of brass. As mentioned above I often pull out 1,000 or 2,000 rounds from each run and put back for a rainy day. Whether I add two or three groups of once fired quantity buys into a bigger group, range pick-ups and mix it all together with a bucket of my pre-processed brass with multiple loadings if it all goes through this process together it loads and shoots consistently then it can run a few cycles before it happens again eith more brass mixed in to build inventory and replace the lost pieces. Will add more pictures and video clips when prepped.
