ZURICH, SWITZERLAND

Zurich is one of the most fantastic cities to explore. While most of Europe has ancient sites that predate the "discovery" of America by the established countries of Europe colonializing the globe, Switzerland managed to sidestep the wrath of world War I and World War II so many wonderful buildings were not destroyed especially during the horrific bombing of WW 2. To fully appreciate the city for what it is and has been you must take some time exploring, reading and hopefully have a local resident like we did as a tour guide.  Some of the churches we visited date back to 1,100 A.D.  These wonderful buildings are stunning and the history of this city is fascinating.  The travel portion of this site began over two decades ago but between content theft causing removal and resampling photographs, adding watermarks, hackers and life its growth was slower than hoped but leaning back into it as with all my sites.
