PAWNEE STEAM SCHOOL

If you ever have the hankering to learn how to operate a steam traction engine then I would recommend you give the boys in Pawnee, Oklahoma a call.  These men know everything there is to know about these machines.  From chemistry, metallurgy, repair and maintenance they are really excited and happy to teach their craft.  They even pass on some old timer tractor lore.   I went into their class completely ignorant of how steam engines really worked and left with enough information to be dangerous.  The most important lesson:  Never let one run out of water.  If you do it goes boom!  Follow this link to check these guys out.
