SUTUREs
Sewing yourself up can be a enlightening experience. You must be prepared for this anytime you are more than three hours from medical care. After three hours it is considered to late to sew. Putting in stitches is relatively easy as long as you have the right stuff. An incomplete med kit can make this job difficult though.
The sequence you will see below is shot on location in Aquas Calliente, Peru after a rock hopping slip above the temple of the moon on Wana Pichu. After I busted myself open I had to descend Wana Pichu back to Machu Pichu and then get back to the town to find that the local clinic was so dirty and ill equipped I opted for the relative cleanness of my hotel room and my personal medical kit.
This is how you glue somebody up. My climbing partner oversaw the job (his hand was in a cast, don't ask) and one of his employees and my wife did the deed. He had to send the better half to the Dollar General to get enough KrazyGlue to do the job. Three tubes later, I was good as new.
