THERMOMETERS

One of the simplest devices you can carry for aiding in diagnosis is a thermometer.  There are a few choices in these.  First is the traditional mercury thermometer.  This comes in a oral and rectal version.  I have generally carried the oral type.  Over the years I have noticed that my glass and mercury thermometers do not last long when subjected to the rigors of the pack and much altitude change.  At present I have one of the flexible types that you just stick to someone's forehead.  I will let ya'll know how it works out in the future.
