MORE STAGE 9, GUERET
As we wandered the course we saw a good portion of the town of Gueret and met lots of folks. The closer we got to the finish line the more of the official tour entourage we encountered. There is lots of cool schwag to cop at the finishes. Most of the sponsors set up their displays and give-aways for the fans early and some provided entertainment. The finishes are the most crowded portion of any stage but also the most interesting and exiting.
The first sign that the riders are nearing is the arrival of the procession. There is no need to buy souvenirs for friends at Le Tour if you are willing to wrestle the crowd for what is thrown from the parade vehicles. After several stages of the tour you will not ever want for another key chain or piece of merchandising material.
