Everyone needs a flashlight handy as in at least one in every room of your home and vehicle. Also every man should have an EDC pocket lite of choice and women should have a light in her purse. If you have one in pocket and vehicle plus scattered around your home odds are when you need a light bad one will be close. I like having one within a few steps anywhere I may be at work or home plus a couple in each vehicle. Broke down after dark or the power goes out and you just can't have enough lights. Weare also going to cover specialty lights such as helment mounted, weapons mounted, portable field lights and specialty building lights.
FLASHLIGHTS
Above there are three high dollar handheld flashlights with cheapest of them being $149 on sale and the other two in the $200 or more price range and all died and died beyond repair inside of a year. It was also when I learned many light companies always can find an excuse not to warranty their products blaming the user. Luminox is only company I have found worse as I have broken evey Luminox tactical watch I saved my hard earned money for before the warranty period ended and discovered its like $50 to retrun them then they hit you with a repair bill about the cost of a new watch. We will have a separate section for handheld lights and weapons mounted lights. Oddly I seem to never break weapons mounted lights.

SUREFIRE TL1 YACTICAL HELMET LIGHT
The Surefire TL1 is a multipurpose light mostly seen as I have set up here and worn on a ballistic helmet for military/tactical use. They also have a spring/clamp type clip you can replace the helmet moun then it will clip on your shirt, jacket, LBE or about anything. They make them with a varierty of lights plus an infrared marker that blinks allowing others or equipment using night vision to see your there and a friendly. They LEDs on front are not super bright as designed to just give enough light to read a map, work on a weapon or other hands free without alerting people over a hundred yards away to your presence. When you buy one be sure to get the light combination you need, some have all white lights, mix of white/infrared, red/infrared, blue/infrared, red/white, etc. Turning on the lights you need is very intuitive using the switches on back which you can work by feel. In the movies about GWOT when someone says "make sure everyone has their I.R. Strobes on for the drones to see" if you have one of these then you are tacticool..
