Everyone needs a flashlight handy as in at least one in every room of your home and vehicle. Also every man should have an EDC pocket lite of choice and women should have a light in her purse. If you have one in pocket and vehicle plus scattered around your home odds are when you need a light bad one will be close. I like having one within a few steps anywhere I may be at work or home plus a couple in each vehicle. Broke down after dark or the power goes out and you just can't have enough lights. I discovered Nebo lights on end caps and at the register of places like ACE hardware and then at Batteries Plus where I have a wholesale account and get roughly a 25% to 30% discount. Every year or so they seem to release an improved model of most lights thus they keep getting better and price point stays stable considering inflation.
HAVE REALLY GOOD LUCK WITH $19 TO $49 NEBO LIGHTS
Above there are three high dollar handheld flashlights with cheapest of them being $149 on sale and the other two in the $200 or more price range and all died and died beyond repair inside of a year. It was also when I learned many light companies always can find an excuse not to warranty their products blaming the user. Luminox is only company I have found worse as I have broken evey Luminox tactical watch I saved my hard earned money for before the warranty period ended and discovered its like $50 to retrun them then they hit you with a repair bill about the cost of a new watch. We will have a separate section for handheld lights and weapons mounted lights. Oddly I seem to never break weapons mounted lights.
THE SLYDE IS TOO BIG FOR POCKET BUT IS A GREAT WORK LIGHT
The Slyde is one of my favorite truck/work lights as its small enough to be handy but big enough to put out a lot of light. I really like sliding it open to use the flood light when working on a vehicle or equipment and use the magnetic base to stick it in a place I don't have to hold it thus have both hands to work with. The rear magnetic cap will screw off without dumping the batteries or guts as has a second cap under the magnetic light so if working on computers or sensitive electronics that a magnet can ruin just take the magnet off. I have the original Slyde, Slyde King and Slyde King 2K. The original Slyde uses four AA batteries and lasts a long time with four AAA rechargeable NiCADs. The Slyde King is a rechargeable light can use the cable that comes with it or your phone charging cable. Any five volt input even a USB port of your computer will charge them. The Slyde King 2K seems to be a bit more refined as from my early Nebo lights to current production and lights purchased just a couple years back they seem to update and improve items like switches or lenses plus are going more to recharrgable lights with smart charging built in.

CLIP IS PRONE TO BREAK ON NEBO TRI BUT IS MY EDC POCKET LIGHT
The Nebo "Tri" with side flood light, front mounted spot and laser pointer is now my most used EDC light. I did break the plastic clip after about a year but I tend to lose metal clips so its kind of a wash. Way I carry it don't need a clip and the slim light is great got carry and use the flood more than spot thus for my needs its better than the "Inspector". The Tri also has a magnetic base which will sometimes pull small metal items out of your pocket but its another issue have learned to deal with. Seldom use the laser pointer but it makes a great level when trying to align two items several feet to other side of room from each other. Also when do presentations always have a pointer with me. In two years of daily carry the clip broke and one of the rubber switch covers popped out. Put the rubber cover back in its slot and a piece of clear tape has fixed that issue and considering how many times I use it am amazed the switch has not broken. I give this light a 7.5 on 10.0 scale, if could take magnet off when want and clip was more durable it would be a $25 retail EDC light and get a 9.0 rating.
EVERY "INSPECTOR" BRING HOME THE WIFE "STEALS"
These are my wife's favorite size and output light with easy to use rubber button on back. While I can't personally weigh in on it as an EDC carry light because after about a week or two wife notices have another and she kidnaps it. I can say know that I have taught her how to not ruin lights/batteries the two or three she has are used regularly and given her absolutely no trouble. There was a time when she first began having eye trouble that using a flashlight helps she was smoking lights and batteries at least weekly. Finally I began to notice I would pick up a light she was using and would be so hot could hardly hold on to it. She would turn it on and leave it on, if doing bookwork would sit on table lens down but on when didn't need it. She would wear gloves as they heated up so light could keep getting hot and not burn her. If phone rang while reading her Bible would just leave it on and few flashlights that have pwerful bulbs and rechargable bateries will take being run till so hot they would burn you. Finally taught her to keep two lights and when one got hot switch to the other then rotate them and our lights blowing and batteries popping ended.
MY FIRST EDC NEBO FLASHLIGHT
Thus was my first or second Nebo and my EDC light for two years. It was $25, charges from any five volt USB port or phone charger and went over a year carried every day before clip began popping off which a couple turns of 3M electrical tape cured. after about 18 months the switch began giving me trouble but was able to repair it back to 100% function. At about two years the ring that holds the lens in would occasionally loosen and lens fall out then have to pick up the parts and reassemble but some glue fixed that. this light also has a magnetic base which is great when you need it and bad when you don't and wish all were like the Slyde and could remove magnets if choose. Rinally after about 2.5 years the lens assembly came loose and had to be glued again and finally the switch became inconsistent. It will still work sometimes soon as tap it but others have to fiddle with it to get it to light up. Size is perfect and did all I could to find another but its discontinued. I work manual labor as much as anything and a $25 rechargeable light that the battery has ye to go away and the few issues were able to fix till finally 2.5 years of using daily the switch got flakey is a darn good light.
