Welcome to our Dirct Impengement build pages. Gas fed rifles being our favorite type of build for a number of reasons there will be quite a few pages each with multiple builds. When in doubt, buy or build a D.I. gas fed gun. There is a reason majority of AR's are still gas operated since their inception. Commonality of parts, easier to tune than a piston gun, simpler, less moving parts and are generally more accurate. Whenever you can upgrade or build an adjustible gas block is likely one of the best upgrades you can add along with a appropriate barrel for your needs. The original design is still our favorite. Under each featured rifle is a link to details on its specifications.

mk12 mod h custom build

Here are a few photos of a Mk12 Mod H clone with a couple small deviations from a true Mk12 but majority of rifle is a full Mk12 clone. May look a bit odd with FDE B5 SOPMOD stock on black rifle but it is going to get a total custom comoflauge refinish after initial tuning and break in. Once rifle is 100% complete will have all the photos post processed and will post a couple pages on the complete build along with range tests and video. Check back later for the entire process from a pile of parts to a long distance SDM/SPR rifle that would stand up to the same use, abuse and needs of a special operations soldier in the field.

FACTORY BUILT 16" SMITH & WESSON M&P 15

Sometimes building your own does not make sense. If you have never built an AR 15 and been advised that you can build a rifle cheaper than buy completed you have been led astray. I find sales on these Smith & Wesson M&P15's cheaper than I can buy the individual parts fairly often. These have many of the same parts Smith uses in their top of the line models and paid $449 for this with warranty and a single magazine. They have one of the most durable melonite/deep salt bath treated barrels you can buy. Have seen test where they were fired 10,000 rounds and then sectioned (split lengthwise in machine shop) to discover the 10,000 round barrel still looked almost as nice as a factory new and all measurements were well inside specifications. Saw another test where a team of men put 20,000 rounds down the bore as fast as they could running them so hot that with gloves had to lay down or till they wer so hot would cook off next round in chamber due to heat. This was done in dirty, sandy conditions and rifle only cleaned when so dirty function became an issue and at end of test barrel and all parts still measured in aceeptable tolerances. Other than putting a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x in Burris PEPR mount the rest of this rifle is bone stock and will add a small red dot for quick CQB type shooting.

16" SMITH & WESSON M&P 15 WITH FRANKLIN BINARY

This is another mostly stock Smith & Wesson M&P15 with a few drop in and bolt on modifications must can do though if never installed a trigger recommend especially with the Franklin Binary you might be better served finding a smith and many gun shops will install for free if buy it from them. If mechanincally handy you can install it yourself. I put the red sticker on my binary triggers as have so many mixed in the pile, let others shoot plus wife would be unsure which is binary or not without them. This rifle has an upgraded Vortex Viper PST 1-4x side focus in Burris PEPR mount. Its a very nice range finding tactical scope. Also added is a FAB Defense Magazine well, vertical grip adapter and tactical light mounted to drop in aluminum quad rail to make this a do all rifle. One last addition was a U.S. issue buffer pad on the stock, which really will make a difference after a long day of heavy shooting especially if ger busy with the binary trigger occasionally. I have a couple of these still new in box put back due to how good of a rifle at a great bargain they can be.
