Welcome to the CoolM14.com Israeili Defence Force (IDF) varient page. Israel is believed to have built 10,000 M14 SDM/SPR rifles from the 35,000 rifles that the United States supplied them with in 1973 after the Yom Kippur War. They initially used the Wild Heerbrugg 4x scopes from K98 sniper rifles in the 1970s. They upgraded to the 6x40mm ‘Nimrod’ scope sometime in the middle part of the 1980s. The last known scope officially issued was the Kahles 6x42mm 'Futonic' scopes with large rubber sun shades, starting in 1994. These rifles were kept in reserve till mid 2000s, most were sold into countries where legal or other militaries. Some say a few still exist in Israel but the majority were demilitarized and the parts sold off where many rebuilt them on reproduction receivers into their former glory. IDF BUILD ON BULA/ROCK-OLA RECEIVER

The IDF rifle was a upgraded M14 with distinctive stock with adjusible comb for proper cheeck weld with opticcs from standard scopes to night vision scopes which tend to be large. The Israeli Defence Force used this as a SDM or SPR type rifle to give troops an accurate rifle with enough energy to make longer shots while also being easy to carry and engage targets quickly. This build is a Bula Defense Systems T44 receiver and retains a near proper appearance for a proper T44.
