Proper brass prep is a huge part of accurracy and longevity. Using the same cases in the same rifle accuracy can be greatly inscereased if you uniform them and reduce tolerance stack. There are also tricks that can extend the life of your brass buy two to three times or more. I have pistol brass that has been loaded dozens of times and just keeps on going but requires work and lots of quality control inspections so you don'y push it too far. This is a one man band website and once get the site structure laid out will be doing range reports along with video footage. Nobody pays us, this is strictly a personal opinion site with no slant to appease a sponsor though we may take sponsors at some point, won't sell our soul to them.

RELOADING ALLOWS FOR OPTIONS, BULK & ACCURACY

Norice above on far left have cast bullets made from scap lead I got free loaded in 7.62x39 cases, these happen to be brass buy I also reload cast bullets in copper washed steel cases I get for free (will share Berdan decaping hints later) which except for a tad of powder and a primer can load in 2024 for bout eleven cents- per round. Next is a M855 GreenTip 5.56 projectile loaded in a 308 case using a sabot for 3,900 fps velocity. Next photo shows the more modern current USGI M855a1 projectiles in 308 cases loaded to same 3,900 fps as the Green Tip. Far fight is more scrap lead turned into free bullets with a little work loaded in brass that has dozens of reloadings so a sip of Unique powder and a primer sends them down range at about eigt cents per round in 2024 component pricing.

GOOD REFERENCE MATERIAL IS IMPORTANT

Luckily when I began reloading at age twelve I had been reading and saving articles on reloading from monthly print gun magazines and had a good clue wher to start. Today between internet atricles, manufacturers sites and YouTube there is a huge amount of information out there but it seems at least once a month I am pulling  twenty to seventy year old book from my library to help someone. There is much information that over the years has been dropped and edited then when coverted to digital most worked from latest editions. There is a huge amount of information in the first and second edition Vihtavouri Ohi manuals that was dropped in the third edition nd never printed in following books. Can find information in a twenty year old Speer or Lymn manual that is not in the current edition. Where this really plays out is special tricks and obsolete cartridge information in manuals from between World War 1 and World War 2.

CLEAN BRASS REDUCES WEAR ON EQUIPMENT & RESULTS IN BETTER AMMO

Notice in above photos I generally run three tumblrts on my home bench two vibratory and one drum type can run wet or dry. The two vibratory tumbers are both Thumbler's Tumbler Ultravibe 18's. For over a decade all my tumbling was done in just a single Ultravibe swapping between walnut shell and corncob media and to this day 45+ years later its still running regularly with corncob media. I added a second Ultravibe 18 for walnut shell then a Thumbler's Tumbler Model 8 drum unit for stainless steel pin wet tumbling. I have a rotating drum tumbler at work I bult myself that uses a five gallon bucket for a drum and when I used to be able to buy once fired brass by the 55 gallon drum at scrap metal vendors would use it to "pre-clean" big lots as I sorted it by size. Will be more on tumblers and media coming.
