ESTES PARK COLORADO

Estes Park is a place the rock climber, ice climber, back country skier, cyclist, backpacker, or even person who tours looking out the windows of their car and stooping at scenic overlooks should have been. Being the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park it offers everything a person may want to do or see except for urban sprawl and skyscrapers unless its mountains, not tall buildings your wanting to see. It is truely an all season place to visit as has great activities year round. One of my favorite climbing partners was lead climbing ranger for the Long's Peak district of RMNP for years and if he was on dutyor unavailable he always knows other park rangers or police officers wanting na solid climbing partner. Every summit I have climbed and most every ice route climbed in this part of RMNP including Long's peak has been with cops from locals to State Troopers.

THE ESTES PARK CABIN

Have had people who I never met, aquantences, friends and even family (they should know better if anyone does) assume or even accuse me of being rich because of how much travelling have done. They see photos of many of the places we stay, how long/often we go and just make the assumption it takes lots of money. What it takes is a job that allows time off and a mindset that its better to travel and enjoy your life while young enough to maximize your youth then plan to work till you die when too old to go full speed. We reversed the "American" standard of working non stop from time you leave school with two weeks of vacatiion, five sick days combined with legal holidays to do a few things betefore your 65 and too worn out and old to do much more than bus tours and river cruises. The visitor to this site will see us kicking back at beautiful cabins and homes like on this page.

BOULDER COLORADO

This cabin is owned by some of our really good friends mother who built it as a personal retreat that she rents out to those who can afford such luxury when not using it and winter is not her favorite time to visit Colorado. If she is not using it and its not rented its ours to use which our home is theirs if need which has happend. The more you travel, the more people you meet and the more you share your home with people the more homes are shared with you. We have a friend in Paris who loans us his apartment when he is working outside of France, met people sometimes mid trip who intivte us to share their homes for a couple nights to extended periods. Its not uncommon to be walking the streets of a foreign country being polite and meet someone who asks where your staying. Tell them just arrived and trying to find a fairly priced hotel or will be moving on soon to be invited for dinner which turns into a week in their spare bedroom. Before the cabin was built have surfed sofas, pulled our camper or even tent camped in the Estes Park area.
