COVERT (CONCEALED) BODY ARMOR

Spend some time here at CoolBulletProofing and will not take you long to figure out we (aka I for now) have a fetesh for covert body armor. The world has become a crazy place and half my work is outside on public road and highway right of ways where anything can happen. Rest of the time I am in a manufacturing facility with machine equipment from manual to CNC, full woodworking shop, sheet metal and steel fabrication, welding plus more. Its not uncommon for a large format CNC router to break a mill (bit) which spinning at 30,000 rpm will go zipping across the shop. Had it not been for my soft armor would likely be dead after big Delta Uni-Saw threw a 0.125"x12"x12" piece of aluminum plate with the sharp corner catching me just below the diaphram dead center of torso. Hit hard enough to take my breath, cut a hole in my work apron, twelve inch gash in overshirt, another big gash in my covert armor carrier, even penetrated a Level 1 stab panel before first layer of Kevlar stopped it after cutting the ballistic panels waterproof cover. So even if its not bullets, if you work with power tools daily a vest is not a bad idea, combined with field work in seedy neighborhoods and I do not leave home without armor even for church or doctors. Wearing covert armor daily doing manual labor outside in winter mixed precipitation to summer sun with 90 plus degree temps and humidity over a long period of time a person gets an idea of what works, does not and how to stay as comfortable as possible. The wife wears armor often, especially when rides motorcycles and have good feedback on female armor as well. Hopefully I can share some useful information with folks.

JUST SOME OF THE STACKS OF COVERT ARMOR HAVE COLLECTED

Having worn covert armor daily now since November of 2015 following the Paris France terrorist shootings of restuarants and nightclubs. A friend in European law enforcement along with friends in U.S. local and Federal enforcement parroted his statements that what was common in Israel and Europe was coming to the U.S. (Remember those countries have stiff gun control laws but people with bad intentions seem to have no difficulty acquiring them even if manufacture themselves so gun control does not work, just keeps law abining folk from defending themselves) and wearing a kit if one own one would not be a bad idea. Preiously had just worn armor when went somewhere I considered "high threat" with advance notice which was at best a handful of times per year. Had I not switched to daily wear would not have had my kit when the table saw tried to throw a piece of aluminum plate through my intestinal tract, a jobsite where caregiver had gone to grocery store leaving wife with Alzheimers alone with a loaded shotgun (she thought I was stealing her tulips) or another where an elderly man with demensia (thought I was disconnecting his phone) tried to shoot me with a snubby 38 Special. Interact with general public on a half dozen public job sites per day and will gain a new appreciation for what cops have to face. Above stacks are just a portion of my armor collection as have to put on a fresh kit every day during summer heat.
