Most horse drawn equipment is still something we really enjoy so if have any such projects please give us a shot. The "boss" while has a bad back is still a good wheelwright and can fix all but the worst wooden wheels people have let sit in the weather and rot.. We can do complete period correct restorations of many items to custom restoration where modern amenities are added to make older items function better or just please our clients desires. If you have a specific need or idea not seen on our site please contact us and ask as we do much and put the same top quality in all we do.

The above farm wagon was manufactured originally by Bagwell Buggies which was located in Cumming Georgia. To date we have restored three of these being somewhat common to this area though we see way too many left to rot outside as "yard art" around peoples homes and farms. While once restored a farm wagon is made to be used but parking it in one spot, letting the wood rim wheels settle into the ground and they will begin to rot from the ground up. Unfortunately we see this way too often and have even advised people to just move the cart a few feet every few months so the wheels do not totally rot out where they contact the ground.

Putting a coat of house paint on your wagon every twenty years and letting it sit idle is a help but not keeping it stabilized till you reach that time in the future you have set to have it restored or take on as a retirement project. Not keeping the wheels turning to reduce rot is the worst thing as wheelwrights do not work cheap and when someone inquires about a restoration the wheel repair cost is what stops the project before it . Please move it a few feet and keep the wheels sitting on a board or brick so not in direct contact with the ground. If you have a nice old original wood wagon wheel its better kept stored in the dry or sold to someone who will care for it rather than using as a mailbox support or leaned up against a fence as original repairs in good shape are becoming difficult to find and purr labor to build or do a major wheel repair will break many owners budget.
