     The state of the commercial sign market in the new millennium has become inconsistent at best.  As helpful as the introduction of the computer has been to the industry it does not make up for poor layouts and substandard manufacturing techniques.  Many new shops are opening without the benefit of an experienced sign painter.  While not an impossible obstacle to surmount, it does make quality work hard to come by sometimes.  The sign customer needs some foreknowledge in order to insure they get a quality product from their particular vendor.  This section is intended to help both the customer and other sign vendors.  Some of these lessons are drawn from many years of experience.  Hope it helps someone and there will be more of these as time permits.
