STAGE 2

       The first official part of any stage is the rider sign in.  All riders are required to make an appearance, sign in and in this particular case sign a few posters.  Unlike Stage 1 the Discovery Team didn't sneak through early but waited till the end and made a grand arrival.  

    This was an excellent place to see all of the riders up close and personal.  The crowd was small and all of the riders were accessible.  Last year I only attended the weekend stages and they were mob scenes.  Very few people got close to the riders due to the fact that the teams were concerned about potential problems.  If you are waiting for the weekend then change your plans, call in sick or dead and come on out to the race.  Everybody and their brother is planning on being at Brasstown or the final stage and the crowds will be so thick that you wont get near the experience that is possible on a weekday stage.
