STAGE 4

Stage 4 left Dalton at 10:00 a.m. headed for its final destination of Dahlonega.  This is the longest stage of this years race and is also the first mountain stage.  This will be a real test for the riders and will separate the contenders from the pretenders.

The first challenge of the day is the two thousand foot climb over Ft. Mountain.  This is also the site of the first  sprint of the day, which was located at the crest of the climb.   There is a special 1,500 dollar bonus offered by Rock Creek Outfitters of Chattanooga.  Since it is impossible to shoot everything Justin Eiseman a Choo Choo town resident and rock climber extraordinaire shot these photos and sent them in.

Stage 4 is on and the weather is atrocious.  We have seen heavy rain, wind, hail and lightening.  The race is progressing slower than anticipated.  Remember that if you get any real cool shots of this stage or have a comment to pass on to the peanut gallery please send it to bicycling@coolbicyling.com
