STAGE 6
Stage 6 official start was at 12:30 in Blairsville. The festivities start long before this though. Bill Elliott was there as one of the official starter and to hand out awards to some elementary school kids who had won an art contest. He was also representing Dodge Motorsports and had his show car with him. This car is one of his older ones that has raced many times and is now mostly relegated to public relations events.
The staff, officials and moto riders were all in a good mood and were taking lots of opportunities for photos and hand shaking. The last day of a stage race is as much of a party as anything. Everyone takes the last chance to get autographs and say their goodbyes until the next race brings them all together.
